In Arkansas:
Scenic Highway 7, including Pedestal Rocks http://www.exploresouthernhistory.com/scenic7.html

Bill Clinton Presidential Library (Little Rock) like him or not, it's interesting

Buffalo River

Blanchard Springs Caverns/Ozark Folk Center/White River in North Arkansas

Northwest Arkansas: Crystal Bridges Museum in Rogers (fabulous collection of American art, and free), Walmart Museum in downtown Bentonville (good reminder of what Walmart used to stand for)

Diamond Mine in Murpheysboro (only one in North America)

Fort Smith National Historic Site/Judge Parker's Courthouse (edge of the western frontier)

Eureka Springs can be a fun place with Victorian-era houses, Passion Play

Mount Magazine State Park, Lodge is beautiful, highest point in Arkansas

That's what comes to mind now! It is a beautiful state once west of the Mississippi River bottoms and cotton fields.
