Hi everyone. Last night my furnace would not come on. No fan, no ignition, nothing. I had to run my fireplace and bedroom air AC heat pump to try and keep the coach warm. I pulled the thermostat off the wall to see if the wires were connected OK. This morning I pulled the thermostat off the wall again to get the thermostat model number and then the furnace came on! It's been working OK since but I'm scared to death to leave my coach later this week when I go on vacation and have it freeze if the problem repeats itself. I had plenty of propane and sufficient battery voltage when the problem occurred. The wiring looks OK. The thermostat worked for fan and air conditioning control but not the heat. I don't think it's anything like the furnace sail switch because the blower wouldn't even come on.

I'm suspecting the thermostat but I'm having a hell of a time finding online resources and a manual for this thermostat. I cant even find a replacement to buy! It's an AirXcel digital thermostat model number 9430-338. If anyone has a manual for this thermostat or knows of a weblink I'd sure appreciate it. It's not even listed in AirXcel's thermostat catalog. I do have an identical thermostat in the bedroom that controls the second roof A/C and heat pump. I guess I could always swap them out.

That is the thermostat. The number I posted was right off the back of it. Thank you so much for the documentation. It seems to be working fine now but I'm very suspect about leaving my coach for any prolonged period of time.

GipCTravelers you guys are the best! Thank you so much. My thermostat is the one you posted in post #3. Without that last digit nothing comes up in an internet search although that last digit is not on the actual thermostat. That thermostat is also not listed in the catalog.

You are absolutely right this should be a warranty item as I just got my coach in August. I'm quickly learning as a full timer though that warranty work isn't always the easiest thing. My dealer is over 100 miles away and I'm all set up for the winter. I don't have any experience with Redwood and any type of warranty coverage with a mobile RV service but it would be cheaper for me to just replace the thermostat instead of taking the coach to my dealer and then finding housing while it's in for service. I was hoping my warranty list would be small and I could get schedule a dealer appointment in the spring but not having a reliable heating system cant wait.

One more thing for Punks Redwood (Paul)....

The wires in the back of the thermostat are stripped and stabbed in. There is a chance that nothing is wrong with your thermostat. It could have simply been one of the wires were not properly seated. And when you pulled it from the wall, the wire made contact with the terminal. You may want to pull the T-Stat from the wall once more and pull on each wire. And it could be that one of the was not stripped properly before stabbing it in. In that case, the wire insulation may have been making false contact instead of the actual bare wire. Just double check that before replacing the stat.

Will do! You may be right as the furnace is firing fine now. Thanks again! I owe you a lot of beers!!!

It's interesting because it doesn't seem Redwood used standard wiring colors for the thermostats. The wiring diagram for my thermostat that GipC provided doesn't quite match the actual wiring to my thermostat. Red, Blue and Yellow are all wired into the appropriate terminals on the thermostat but I have two green wires one of which is is in the GL terminal (Fan Lo) which is probably correct but the second green wire is wired to the W terminal (Furnace) which according to the diagram should be the white wire??? My white wire is in the GH terminal (Fan Hi). I'm not planning on moving anything because everything is working but it does seem odd. I don"t have a gray wire and one of the green wires seems to be swapped with the white wire in the terminal location.
