Hello,
I purchased a 2016 Redwood 5th wheel and have been living in it full time in Bellingham Washington. We have had a very cold winter here and the coach was perfect all winter staying warm. The I keep my heat t stat set at 70 when in the coach and 65 when out of coach. When I go to bed at night I set the t stat at 65. I started noticing when returning that my heater was running and stops when it reaches 71 or 72 even when my set point is 65. Then at night my heater started running passed set point then stopping at 71 or 72. I went to my local RV dealer and purchased a new RV Comfort.HP Thermostat Model 9530-335. And the new T stat is doing the same thing.
What can I do? If there a factory setting?
Thanks,
Al

Al,

Glad to hear your rig stayed warm all winter. Regarding your question I would like to ask:

Are you using the heat pump or furnace?
Which T-stats are you setting, 1 or both?
The temps you are mentioning is that reported on 1 or both T-stats.

If by chance you are setting the bedroom thermostat at night, only the living room thermostat controls the furnace and heat pump.

See that is what I was wondering.

RW told me that they placed the heat pump above the bedroom in my FL and wired it to the t-stat in the kitchen. Obviously that didn't work well and they had to change it.

Curious how his is setup. Easy enough to test by just using the fan setting and see what unit runs.

Yup, run the fan test, which A/C unit is controlled by which t-stat.

I'm wondering if during your absence you have lost power. If both the battery power and electrical power is lost the thermostat will default to about 72F on a power restart. I've had that happen to me.
