Summer Time A/C Results

Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area today, it peaked out at 97 degrees. Humidity was running 36% and winds are light at 6-8 mph. It "feels like" 103 degrees.

Having said that, we have the 2014 38GK with 2 A/C units. Not 3.

Indoor temperatures last year (before all of the repairs) would have been 82-85 at best.

Repairs made:

Removed both A/C units and replaced the foam in between the supply and return.
Cut all 10 A/C Supply collars down to properly fit the duct.
Put real insulation in the front cap closet behind the shoe boxes.
Dig out as much foam as possible from where the Return Duct cuts thru the Supply Duct.
Placed foam inserts in both of the vent fans.
Placed foam insert in the MaxxAir fan.
Placed foam inserts in the shower skylight.
Closed all of the Heat Duct vents.
Keep all blinds closed all day long.
Keep the awning out all day.

And today, I cut foam to close off all 3 vents leading to the basement. These are the vents located at the base of your sink basins and the cabinet by the front door. I believe these would typically be used in the winter to let heat rise into the rooms above from the underbelly tank heat ducts below.

Anyway, today, the RV is down to 74 in the living area and 75 in the front bedroom.

During the AM to about 1PM, the A/C's cycle on and off. After that, they run continuous until about 9PM (that is when the sun goes down).

How does this compare to anyone else staying the hotter temperatures?

We are in socal right now and it has been around 105 for the last 2 weeks. This week humidity is around 45. I redid the intakes on both acs and we are around 76 in the trailer. Have not opened the front cap as the closet does not feel warm. The a.c. runs pretty much from daylight till dark

Your numbers are close to what I have found since my reapairs.. I did just about everything you did, a few weeks back we were down the beach and it was HOT . .and we actually turned the AC up because it was cold sitting in the recliner next to the table..

It is amazing what a few common sense repairs will do for the A/C system performance.
A little more attention to quality during the construction would have resolved most of these common sense mods.
These are not high cost items during construction, just better common sense procedures and processes.

Robert, too bad common sense isn't a required skill when throwing these things together.
We've done some experimental adjustment to our Maxx Air fans while traveling the last couple weeks out west. Usually after driving 5-6 hours in the heat we could cook dinner without lighting the stove inside the RW. Lately with the auto setting on the fans we tried running all 4 exhausting out (actually created a vacuum inside), tried just a couple on exhaust (no help), finally exhaust the one either over the bed or in the bath hallway & just open not running the kitchen vent (next trip will try it on blowing inward), it was still warm inside, but not like usual & didn't take all evening to cool it down. Just my .02 cents.

The problem if you create a vacuum inside, any road dust will be sucked inside. Used to run with the Vents just open and realized it increased the dust and dirt inside.

Didn't notice the dust so much as exhaust fumes!
I do most of the dusting & vacuuming (that hose is heavy/difficult to handle for DW) so a little more doesn't make much difference.
