I have a 2012 38RL and need to replace my anode rod. Does any one know the model number for the anode rod?
Thanks

Camco part number 11563 Aluminum Anode Rod. Most RV dealers will have them in stock.

Will the Suburban 232767 Water Heater Anode Rod work? I would rather not use aluminum.

Dave,

Yes, that is the anode listed in the manual. It is the magnesium anode. That is the the one I use. Here is an Amazon link.

Hope this helps

Depending on your water source, it would be tough to say which one is best. Magnesium may react with bacteria causing a sulfur smell. Aluminum rods usually don’t have this problem, but it can happen.

I should add that I also use a water softener along with an inline Culligan water filter. I have not had any issue of water odor using the magnesium anode and the anodes have lasted for well over a year. I flush the water heater once each year and generally also change the anode at that time even though it could be used much longer.
