Question, i towed my RV home from Myrtle Beach and parked the unit and turned of power switch to unit and month later turned switch on to put slides out and battery (DEAD) anybody know why
The best way to disconnect ALL power is to disconnect the batteries or rewire the switch to shut everything off. There are various 12 volt items that don't go through the switch, CO/LP sensor & electric slide motors are just a couple I recall.

Thanks folks with get my test meter out and see what drawing juice after master switch is off
I had the same issue, even with the RW plugged in the batteries drained completely when the disconnevt switch was turned to "off". Danny is correct about the loads still connected.
On our 2013 it was a relatively easy re-wire at the breaker block behind the batteries to do a true isolation. It's my understanding that the electric slide in the front needs power to stay in the closed position, so don't move the RW after rewiring with the batts disconnected.
Thanks for input , I believe if I would have spent some serous time on here before buying the RW , it would have never happen it blow my mind to here people wasting thousand of dollars on suspension parts like axles, going from a 7000 lb to 8000 really for what to haul more junk in side , must be I haven't pulled my far enough yet ! Sorry for venting on you

The axles are changed due to inferior engineering and the lack of quantified safety regulations. Do the math and you will see that the axles, brakes and tires (for MANY of us) are undersized. Redwood finally took note of this only recently and you'll notice in the latest brochures that these items have been adjusted. Own the older units and you're at risk with no recalls ever in site. Dealerships also have "blame" here as they are cut-throat. They intentionally order less than safe or borderline products from the dealership to put on their lots as it saves them money. These tactics create BIGGER profits.
Be an educated consumer. Read up BEFORE you purchase. The industry is UN-regulated and the RVIA is NOT an association in your favor. Forget that sticker on the side of the RV. It's not for your benefit. There are NO consumer protections available.
Just read on this Blog site alone and see all of the "issues" we have all had. Read "other" blog sites and you'll quickly see the patterns (all brands). Luckily, we all protect and assist each other thru this forum and IMHO, it's the best that we have.
If you are undersized, it's only a matter of time (not IF) and then you will experience the $8000-$10000 or more repairs required.
To make matters worse, just look at the record sales going on. With fuel prices down, it's only going to get worse with record sales continuing. Workers are paid in "piece-meal" rates. Not by the hour. Speed (not quality) equals larger paychecks. And if you think QC inspectors are really watching everything, think twice. They are NOT engineers and they only check what they have time to see or have been "programmed" to review.
While not defending Redwood, their quality probably isn't any worse than the other RV manufacturers.
For those of us old enough to remember the US auto industry prior to the Japanese entry, it's deja vu. I spent a university work term or two at Ford in QA at a truck assembly plant. The quality was terrible, frame rivets missing, orange peel paint jobs etc. etc., even some of the hub caps didn't stay on the truck from the end of the assembly line to the rail yard for shipping! I swore I would never buy a Ford product.
Enter the Japanese and the US guys had to get their acts together. As a result I now own a Ford truck!
My hope is that an offshore manufacturer can see an opportunity and start manufacturing and importing RVs. I note that Hyundai are selling transport trailers in north America (probably made in south Korea) and seem to be doing well in spite of the transport cost to get them here. A foreign entry would shake up the domestics and do what the Japanese did for the automobile industry quality.
I have a 2016 Ford F-350 DRW loaded and am pulling a 2017 RW 39MB when did they change for the better may I ask
What a SUPERLATIVE IDEA!
Mexico is just south. I'll invest in any company willing to do this AND MAKE A QUALITY PRODUCT!
I'm tired of crap products.
Of course, if it were made by Toyota, I'm sure that would also be a great product.

The US auto industry gradually improved quality over several decades including the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000. You get the idea.
Unfortunately, there is not much incentive for the RV industry to improve quality. Consumers are easily fooled by the superficial looks of the product. Even some of the highest end RVs are subject to many of the same poor engineering and quality control practices.
its to sad to say you are 100% correct, their not one Rv on the market that doesn't have issue their no quality control because they would louse production numbers, get it out the door and let the dealer deal with it !
The BIG Problem, the Dealers don't deal with it until after it's been sold, and them sometimes not very good or timely.
I have been dealing with the same issue of dead batteries it happens within 2.5-3 weeks after use, the dealer said this has been problematic for most 5th wheels not just Redwood. They said a battery cutoff switch to the inverter and problem would be resolved and recommended by redwood. I just bought one yesterday and installing today........ I will give an update after I use it!
We bought a brand new beautiful 2017 38RL last August. It has been at Campingworld service ever since for warranty work. we have been able to use it 1 day in 8 months!!!!!!!!!!

THAT'S TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I would get on the phone to Thor/Keystone/Crossroads, any SOB that I could get a hold of & get your coach to some place that could fix it. I'd be there in a hour to pick it up if it will roll & tell them they could stick there service where the sun don't shine. There has to be another place that could do better. In those 8 months you could've scheduled an appointment at the factory service center & had it fixed right & been enjoying it for the last 7 1/2 months. I'm not so sure I wouldn't buy advertising for that dealer on a billboard next door to warn everyone about their service.
As I said, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! It would not be on their another day.
