That's beyond impressive! I can't wait to see the technology advancements, in the near future. As you know, with more people hitting the road, hookups are becoming harder to find without significant lead time for a reservation. I'd love to install a capability like this, but will need to wait on the batteries to become more affordable. Do you have insight on what we can expect in the next year or so? Thanks again for taking the time to share and answer questions.

Yup, crazy competition getting sites, and only going to get more competitive especially at special events or want to stay type of places. I hope it's a positive for the industry as a whole.

I don't have a crystal ball at all regarding either the battery technology nor the solar generation technology but can share with you what I know.

  • Tesla is building what is being marketed as the "Lithium Giga Factory" to build batteries for their Electric Vehicles and "Other Consumer Products". By "Other Consumer Products" I'd take that as storage for the things like their "Solar Wall" intended to be used in a stationary house. It's only matter of time before they make the leap from stationary house using EV batteries to an RV capable storage solution. The cost / amp hour coming out of the factory is being marketed to be an order of magnitude cheaper, but doubt that will be the case. If they can half it that would be great!
  • Many coaches are being build now to be 100% electric. I just today pulled into the first campsite that has 100AMP service. The 50AMP shore power plug has been reconfigured to support both 50AMP and 100AMP connections. I'm sure it comes from the Park Model world, but given the ever increasing need for power it's only a matter of time that becomes the "park new build" standard.
  • Of course battery storage is important, much like how large of a fresh water tank can I have. From what I read the short term advances in capacity and cost will come in the storage side not the generation side (solar) simply because the economics of scale are on that side with EVs starting to roll into the mainstream.

Hope this helps.
