This is just a continuation of earlier conversations about the Fisher/Paykel dishdrawer throwing a fault code when using the generator. Several people with NEWER Redwoods have had this problem, including us. It's been a bear of an issue, I know our local dealership has been trying to figure it out and cannot.
For those of you who are scoffing about "why do you need to use the dishwasher when you are presumably boondocking?!" I would offer the following;
First of all, everything should work-full stop.
Second: The dishwasher uses a scant 2 gallons of water TOTAL to wash an entire LOAD of dishes. Those of us profoundly experienced in hand washing dishes can attest, that would be IMPOSSIBLE for the same size load in the sink. It is a water and power saver to use the dishwasher when boondocking!! Especially when you set it on "economy".
I would like to report that today I exercised the generator, and to put a load on it, I ran the clothes dryer and a few other odd things. Suddenly, I realized the dishwasher wasn't BEEPING with a fault code!!! NO CODE! So I ran a rinse cycle to test it. WORKED FINE!!
What has changed since the last time we had the fault code? Well... we had a major failure of our surge protector, it nearly caught on fire and put us out of power completely for a week while we got it repaired. The service center installed a NEW surge protector with a little more care than last time. Ironically, the OTHER person I know of who has this problem ("BlueDogs" on the other forum) bought his RW from the SAME dealership as us. Coincidence ???
BRAD! Will you share this info over there for them?? I will contact JeffM about it, because I know that he is trying to figure it out.
Anyway, MY DW WORKS! WOO HOOOOOO! Happy Days! 😆
Theresa, Glad your dishwasher is now working without giving error codes while on Geny power. While we have a Geny in ours, we have never had to use it when running our Fisher Paykel dishwasher. We love how well it cleans the dishes and how quiet it runs. I do believe that ours uses 1.8 to 2.2 gallons to wash and the same 1.8 to 2.2 gallons to rinse based on the wash cycle setting. Probably uses less water than washing by hand and running the water to rinse. Just hoping that we never have to run our dishwasher while on geny power and that if we do it doesn't give us error codes also.
Happy camping.
