Purchased our new home is less than a month ago - went from sticks and bricks to a new 2018 5th Wheel - had the dealer put in a washer and dryer.
Rig is now in the shop and we are in a motel 300 miles from the dealer - Appears the "factory/plant" gray-tank connections, for the washer, leaks at the tank. Actually bowed the underbelly wrap before pouring from the rig. - The RV Shop, in St. Louis, had to pull the Black tank and found the washer connection/fitting is stripped out. Being the weekend, they have to wait until they contact Keystone for authorization to repair or replace the entire tank - Oh Joy.
Wondering if anyone knows if Redwood/Keystone hotel stays are reimbursed for Factory defects or warranty work.

Can't comment on hotel expenses, but have forwarded your details to my Executive Management contact, to see if he can assist in expediting approval & parts.

Good luck getting it resolved quickly.

Thanks for the quick response.
Hope to get to our next destination in time before we lose reservation.
Travers St. Louis RV Service has been very responsive and we hope KEYSTONE does the same.
Hard to pay for 2 places to sleep when full timing - learning that quickly.

Can you please provide a cell number to my email address - president@redwoodrvowners.com

I have already received a reply requesting some more details from you. A phone number and contact at the dealer will also assist.

Sounds like the dealer might have something to do with your issue.......

According to the shop working on this - This is a factory/assembly connection that preps the unit for a washer and that the dealer would never have to access that area when a washer is installed.
They duplicated the leak and had to pull the Black Tank to find the leak and said the threaded connection on the tank is stripped out. This repair facility also sells RVs and installs options like washer and dryers - so all I have to go on is their findings.
BTY - We noticed the leak after Gray Tank was a bit over 2/3 full. The washer was NOT running.

We ordered our RW with the stacked w/d pair & have used them almost daily for the last 5 years, yet to have any problems with either.

Good for you....If I was going full time I would look into a w/d but we stay usually where they have laundry facilities so no need for them.....

Reply from Keystone J9340348 - "As we consider this a recreational vehicle, hotel expenses are not a warrantable expense. We are always happy to assist you in finding dealers close to where you are travelling. Let me know if you have additional questions. Have a great day!"

Travers RV in St. Peters, MO understood this was our home and were able to get the rig in and kept us updated a few times a day on progress - KUDOs to them so far. They state that they have applied an "Epoxy Solution" to the factory installed tank fitting late Saturday and this is documented so their fix is warrantied through Keystone if it fails again. Hoping to get the rig back late Wednesday - The issue is a “Manufacturing Defect” as per Travers RV.

As far as KEYSTONE's update that a place to stay is not covered - Guess we will get a nice tent as a backup because there are no full time rigs; all are recreational.

Redwood Dealerships and pamphlets advertises these as a Full Time rig catering to us Baby-Boomers - This is our Home although we can choose what state and park we want to stay in.

Doesn't matter if a washer was installed or not in ours - This is a connection that leaks on the tank itself. All Redwoods already have the connection from the tank that connects to the pluming that makes them "prep'ed" for w/d. - Leaks anytime the water level is at 2/3 full.

BUT - It is nice "NOT" to visit laundry mats and we can't wait to get out of this hotel and back in our "HOME" and head for Mississippi Coast!
Safe Travels to you and yours from me and mine.

It's a camper....Not a house.....Redwood is no different than all the other "Full Time" manufacturers who claim the same thing....
