Looking for the best way to have internet in my 5th wheel that I can travel with...
Following...this is probably the most frequent irritation of living on the road. Minor irritation, mind you 🙂 🙂
Probably a lot of responses on this one...
Our favorite is the Verizon Mi-Fi. Safe and secure compared to RV Park Wi-Fi. The advantage is when you're driving and the co-pilot is giving you information with an internet connection.
In some parks, you might have access to a cable company. It's faster and still secure when set up right.
If you are looking for money to burn, you could consider satellite but you would have to be stationary...
Bear in mind that there are many locations out west where internet (much less cell phones) will not have connections. What a blessing!
While I do not full time, I do get around a Bit...
I don’t leave home without my Verizon MIFI . . . Safe and secure...
Verizon as well! It's a bit pricey, but nowadays it's almost a must have. We pay $225+/- monthly for 2 phones, the mifi jet pak with unlimited talk, text, data, but the data is 15 gig at 4g & then drops to 3g. Been coast to coast border to border with only a couple spots without cell signal, but still had WiFi, don't ask me how that works, but it did. We do not stream movies.

When in Indio, CA this year, we signed up again with Millenicom. About 4 years ago they were bought out by Verizon, but they have re-opened for business. I believe they now use T-Mobile network.
They are no contract and I signed up for 10 G for $50/month - 4G LTE. I have been up and down the West Coast and always get great reception. They also have an unlimited option.
We also have Verizon Mifi “unlimited”and when it is full speed I am very pleased with it and service has been outstanding all across the country. But when I reach the 15GB limit it slows to a crawl and is almost useless. Would sure like some other high speed options.
We have the Verizon MIFI, 2 iPads with cell and 2 phones all on the unlimited plan. When the MIFI gets near its throttle point we switch the hotspot to a phone or iPad. Also have. WeBoost cell signal booster from Wilson Engineering. Works well. Have been in sections where everyone else around us had 1 bar of service and 3G and we had 3 bars and 4g.
For the wifi side, I use an Alfa Camp Pro signal booster. This also functions as a secure router so when you hook into campground or other wifi it encrypts it.
Very happy with both of the above.
For a number of years we had a satellite internet system (Hughes) which worked very well, especially in the north (Alaska and the Yukon) where there was no other services (radio, TV or cell), but it was relatively expensive with no VOIP capability due to the lag.
I initially tried T-mobile when in the US but the service (lots of dead spots) wasn't great. I have gone with AT&T pay as you go, started with a mifi hotspot but now only use my smart phone as a hotspot, it works well and with 6 gigs/month it meets our needs on the road, with good connectivity all across the US as we transit from Canada and back each winter. When we are parked in California we connect to the cable internet, fast service and relatively inexpensive.
One reason that I went with AT&T as opposed to Verizon is that Verizon used the old system (CDMA) vs. the now world standard which is GMS, in Canada and the rest of the world GMS is used. I understand that Verizon has some dual capability "world phones" but I prefer to use my GMS smart phone and just switch SIM's if I need to if we travel internationally.
