We have a 2015 38GK and the convection oven bit the dust.
Is it difficult to replace the microwave? I'm not sure how to even get it out.
Just a friendly reminder..............I thought ours had died as well. Just on a hunch I unplugged it from the receptacle above in the top cabinet and used an extension cord to plug it into another outlet...........WALLAH!! So before you go to the trouble, verify that the outlet for the microwave is OK. If the outlet is trouble, let me know I can help you with what is probably wrong.
Redwood exchanged our microwave at the rally and it took 5 - 10 mins. I installed ours at home and it has 2 bolts through the cabinet above into the top of the microwave. Have somebody hold the microwave in place as you remove the 2nd bolt.
Once both are removed the microwave will rotate forward and then lift it off the bracket. The lower rear edge sits on the bracket.
When installing a new microwave you may have to adjust the location of the exhaust, as ours had options for top or rear venting.
Great, thanks for the response. There's always someone out there whose been there, done that.
Appreciate it.
You didn't say if you tried plugging it into another outlet somewhere else?
I didn't try a different plug because the microwave works fine, but my wife said when the convection oven reached the temp she set it for, it started cooling back down and she smelled that overheated wires smell. So, she shut it down.
But no problem with the microwave, just the oven.
Hopefully you know to have the vent outside of the microwave opened up for during use time? Just be sure to turn the thumb latches back to lock the flap when you travel, you don't want the flap to fly off as it is held in with 2 small pins.
