We purchased a new Redwood 38GK. About a month after delivery we took the rig to our dealer because of frequent but interrmittent high pitched squealing noices. The dealer claimed there was no problem. Finally took it to a different dealer. THey said the converter was bad and it was warrantied. A month later we discover the front battery was dead. (We never ran on battery; always shore power). Took into dealer number one and they also find the second battery had exploded inside the housing. The front one I first tested before taking in for service was not down on water.
Both batteries dead. Less th  an 1 year old. Redwood denies any connection from bad converter to dead batteries.
Were the batteries inspected during the PDI? It was during the PDI we discovered one battery was missing and the other was not connected.
This sounds like you had a bad battery. Maybe a short in one of the cells.
During PDI, the tech showed the battery compartment. The front one had the cover removed and he said they both were tested and fine.
During this service call where the selling dealer discovered the exploded battery and the other dead battery, a suspicious issue arose tool. The Service Advisor at our purchasing dealer, said they are the ones that put in the batteries during their dealer prep. He said they only put in Interstate brand. These were both a no-name knock-off brand.
Very suspicious I was, and am, getting taken for a ride.
