I have a 2016 38GK and get a rotten egg odor when I run the water out of the sink in the bathroom or bedroom. Water coming out of kitchen or shower does not have this odor. It is worse after sitting for a few days or we just get somewhat used to it. Any ideas how to cure or where its coming from?

Under the bathroom sink is a vent that screws onto a Wye that comes off the drain. They notoriously go bad. You van pick new one up at Home Depot etc.I had the same issue and the new vent solved it
In actuality the gray tank and galley tank can stink as much as the black tank. Try some holding tank chemicals in these tanks as well as the black tank.
Shane offers good advice to check the vacuum breaker under the sink in the drain line. You can simply unscrew it for removal. They get gunky and funky, and you can sometimes resurrect them by a good hot water wash with degreaser soap like Dawn.
Another source of bathroom stink can come from a reaction between the aluminum anode rod in the hot water and hard water with minerals. The best solution is to replace the standard aluminum anode rod with a magnesium rod. They cost a couple dollars more but that is all I now use and it took the stink out of the water supply.
I just completed flushing my holding tanks after 18 months nonstop use and before placing the RW in storage for most of the summer :(. This will be the 3rd time I've done this in that time.
The way I like to do it is as follows:
- Get 6 gallon jugs of generic white vinegar (costco or walmart have it pretty cheap)
- Get a normal size bottle of dawn detergent. A 24oz bottle is plenty.
- The morning I'm going to drive to a spot that has full hook empty tanks completely, add 2 gallons vinegar and 1/3 the bottle of dawn along with 4 gallons of water to each tank.
- Drive to your destination. Don't worry if the RV smells like vinegar when you arrive. It goes away quickly.
- Drain water/vinegar solution and backlash each tank with 40 gallons of water. Once is ok, twice is better.
- Fill each tank with about 30 gallons of water and let sit overnight.
The next morning you can drain the tanks and they should be very clean.

We have the 2014 38GK...
If it smells like sulfer, you have a bacteria building up. It stinks like crazy. I let ours go a little too long and all the sinks smelled horrible.I just did this last weekend.
The solution is to get a gallon of bleach and pour it in your water tank. Fill the water tank to 100% (between the bleach and water).
Next, turn OFF the water heater and drain your hot water tank (HINT: Pop the safety valve to release the water faster out of the tank). Have a replacement rod handy. Make sure your new one fits right. There is a Suburban Unit and an Atwood Unit. I got one a Camping World. The threads were cut wrong. I had to get another one. It's 20 miles to the nearest RV Store.
Next, pull the water filter and leave it out.
Next, turn off the shore water and turn on your pump. Go to the last faucet in the house and let the water run a couple of minutes. Then go the shower, the bathroom sink, run the washer to get water in the bowl. It probably needs a good chlorination anyway. Then run the kitchen sink and finally the dishwasher. Oh, and then go outside and run the utility closet faucet.
Now...You will have to let that sit for about 24 hours.
Then:
Turn off the pump motor.
Connect the shore water.
Empty the Hot Water Tank.
Replace the Anode Rod. Use Teflon Tape.
Pop the Hot Water Safety Valve. Fill the tank. When water comes out of the pop off valve, your tank is pretty full.
Open all of the faucets, etc and flush for 5-10 minutes.
Drain the remaining water as bleach water and plastic tanks don't set well with each other. Fill with shore water as desired (I leave ours empty here at the park. But if the park pump quits, I'll be up the creek).
After you're pretty sure all of the lines have been flushed and the Hot Water Tank is full, go back and replace your water filter.
Finally, don't forget to turn the Hot Water Tank back on.
You're done!
If you are full timing, we still used the bleach water to wash dishes or some small chores. But with the much bleach in the lines, you won't want to take a shower or brush your teeth in it. Use bottled water and do this over a Saturday or Sunday. You will be so glad afterward! It's a whole new water quality! :woohoo:
I super-chlorinate(sanitise) the FW system one per year, plus if we experience a boil water advisory or the system isn't used for over 1 month.
For our 100 + gal FW tanks you only require about 2 cups of bleach. Also, do not pour straight bleach directly into the tank. Dilute the bleach prior to adding.
Here is a great website with sanitising procedure for the FW system.
Ya, I don't look after my fresh water tank as much as I need to, wish I had the time now. Where is the "total guilt on face" Emoji?
Thanks for the pointer, will fit that into the schedule when we take her out of storage in the fall.
