Guess I have been on a problem free roll for too long (a few months)

Today my Kitchen Faucet started leaking at the lever.
Every time I cut the kitchen faucet off, some water runs out under the lever.

Guess its time for a new better Quality kitchen faucet.

That's on my list also. Replace all faucets with regular house faucets. I have a list growing and this winter there will be many upgrades or changes that work for us since we are getting closer to full time.
Slowing right now on working on it and just getting out with it. If it's not broken it can wait until winter now.

We've noticed that ours leaks too; but only when we turn it on full-blast. Took us a while to figure that one out! Not sure if it is bad washers, o-rings or what; but as long as it's not on full blast, it's not leaking all over the counter.

Rob, if you can wait until the Rally, I can probably fix your faucet.

Thanks Bob,

I will keep a eye on it for the next few days and see how bad it leaks, right now it is squirting water pretty bad every time I use it.

I may look this weekend and see if there is any good quality replacement that I like at the right price.

You can purchase a Delta faucet repair kit at Lowe's which will fit the faucet in the kitchen. I had the same problem and used a rebuilding kit which put the faucet back to original. Hard water had built up scale in the faucet internals. Easy rebuild.

Replaced mine within the first few months of owning, the head barely trickled so cleaned screen, then it squirted at a 45 degree angle, rebuild kit wasn't going to help it. If you have the dishwasher it's a real PITA, remove cabinet doors, remove as much drain as needed, your arms are still too short, & it's all done by feel with one hand cause you can't see it. If I'd have been 3' tall, 6' arms with 2-3 more joints it would've been a piece of cake.

We know we need to do something with the kitchen faucet. We periodically get a leak around the base of the faucet. We even considered taking the back off the island to make it easier to get to... but there is no way to do that without leaving "evidence". Not very excited working in the area between the dishwasher and sink. We have read other peoples' horror stories about that job!

We developed a leak in the retractable spiral metal hose. Called the vendor, I believe in Camas WA and they promptly sent a brand new hose assembly to us no questions asked. That was the easy part. Just changing that dirty bugger was an exercise in the not so nice spoken English language. Took two hours, but finally got it done. Changing the whole faucet wouldn't be much harder, though.

Our kitchen spray head wouldn't go back to stream after using it. It would stay on spray. I removed the head and soaked in a plastic bag of CLR. Helped a little bit but not much. I sent an email off to Dura, the maker of the kitchen faucet in our RW. Explained the situation. They asked for a few pics including their name on the faucet. Less than a week later a brand new spray head arrived at no cost. Dura did a great job of customer service for us.

Our lever on the same kitchen faucet leaked at the bottom also. Took handle off with small allen wrench. Took the guts out, brought with me to Menards and bought Delta parts. Fit perfect. Has worked flawlessly ever since. We liked the faucet. It was easier to change a few parts to make it like new again. And I didn't have to contort my body or swear in a foreign language to fix it.

Wow, you guys are great, took the faucet apart (actually it appears to be a pretty well made faucet) sure enough there was some scale build up in it. (did not have to go under the cabinet / sink at all, everything done from the top)
I went to Lowes and picked up a couple of the Delta repair kits (guess the bathroom lavatory faucet is the same), installed the new seals and parts, lubed everything as I put it back together with plumbers grease so it would slide back together easy.

Works great, easy to fix, low cost, good to go !!!

Thanks again for the great info, I would have never thought of that.
