Si I noticed today that the toilet is leaking at the base. I'm sure it needs a new seal , but what does it take ? Is it a special seal for different brands or are they all the same seal like a house ? Or will a house seal work ? Just want to have parts before I pull the toilet up

I suspect you still have the POS Thetford toilet? If so take it up, lay it on it's side in the back of your truck & haul it to the nearest dump. Then replace it with a Dometic 310 (round bowl) or 320 (oblong bowl) & no more toilet worries.
The repair parts for the Thetford are expensive & have to remove the toilet for most, while Dometic can be completely rebuilt in place for $20-$30.

Sounds like a good idea , now just need to find a 320 and get installed. Thanks for the ideas

It's an easy install, same water connections, just unscrew from old toilet and screw onto the new one. Installing is a 20 minute or so job. I left the POS old toilet at the KOA in Tucson a few years ago! They let me put it in their trash bin.

I just replaced my Thetford in the half bath with the 310 yesterday. I wasn't having trouble, just didn't want to start any. Both the Dometic and Thetford johns just use a foam gasket, no wax. The Dometic mounted right up to the existing closet flange, but I did have to use the smaller Dometic bolts if I wanted to use the new decorative caps.

The 310 requires 10" from centerline of the flange to the back wall. The 320 requires 11". I did not have enough room for the 320.

On the 310, be sure to get the slow drop wood seat option, otherwise you get a cheesy plastic one. I also opted for the sprayer because our old thetford had it. The 320 may come standard with the slow drop seat, I don't know.

Thanks Jim!
Dory is doing well. Still weak, but she was walking laps around the campground last weekend. She is a determined lady! We look forward to some of the plans we made for this summer.

Brad - call me when you have a chance. Need to bring you up to speed and see if we all can't connect somewhere this summer or fall.
