Toilet Tablets

Nice subject huh?? 😉

Just thought I'd ask how you all handle these aromatic tablets....

It says to use 1 tablet for 40 gallons. Since the black tank is larger than that, I typically use 2 tablets. Usually at the same time.

But today, I was having an Epiphany. Our tank usually takes 2 weeks to fill. If I put two tablets in that at one time, both dissolve and do their business until they run out of energy. If I use 1 tablet now and 1 tablet next week, wouldn't that be like taking your medicine? The first tablet would have taken care of the 1st half of the tank. The 2nd tablet would take care of the 2nd half of the tank fill. The only problem with that logic is that the "medicine" would seem to be diluted by a double tank full on the 2nd tablet.

Anyway, this was just more or less an opportunity to pick your brains and see how each of you handle this smelly subject.

We usually use a powder equivalent to the capacity of the black tank that has just recently been drained and cleaned. Once cleaned, add a couple of gallons water and powder. Haven't used tablets except for the galley tank, which dissolves right at the sink area.

We use this for the black tank:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007S0H5DU?psc=1

And this for the galley tank:
https://www.amazon.com/Walex-TOI-61776-Elemonate-Deodorizer-Cleaner/dp/B003BSB7PU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495910231&sr=8-1&keywords=walex+elemonate

Both have worked well for us.
