New 340RL, first time using shower, water came in basement. After different test, if there nobody in the shower and leave water open, no water leak. When someone is in, it's take's 4-5 minutes before leak appear. The water leak is close to the wall where is the water fill cap and fresh water, etc.
Someone have and idea where it came from ?
I had same issue on a 201731SL. Just run the water...ok. Someone in shower, water dripping out bottom of coach and floor wet in bath. The bottom glides at the bottom of the doors were not caulked on the ends in the corners. Caulked the corners and problem resolved. With person in the shower, water splashed on the doors and ran into bottom door tracks.Leaked onto floor and basement at end of track at the corners.
OK...Just more quality control issues like normal...
With that in mind,
Pull everything out from under your basement area.
Remove the back wall.
Skinny up and get between the joists.
Crawl to the back while scraping your sides and back.
There, you will find the bottom of your shower.
There is a locknut that holds the rind down tight.
Loosen it up.
Crawl back out from under the belly of the beast and go back into the shower.
Pull up on the drain.
Scrape out the cheap plumbers putty used by the factory and install a good plumbers putty.
Shimmy back under scraping once again your sides and back.
Tighten down the locknut. BE CAREFUL. Do not strip the nut or you'll have to do twice the work!
Get someone up top to push down while you tighten the nut below. That will take some of the pressure off but again, DON'T OVER-TIGHTEN!
Next, look at the PVC fittings and make sure they are tight. They are even more susceptible to striping. BE CAREFUL! Hand tighten only!
The problem is that the shower enclosure is installed incorrectly. There should have been a support installed under the shower to prevent the shower from flexing. Each time we get in, the floor pushes down and moves the rings and fittings. The shower is not designed to hold our body weight. To add to that, the floor also flex's. Every time I get in ours, it just groans. The sad part is that if you want to permanently fix this, you would once again have to practically rebuild the shower. I'm not ready for that one just yet.
It's just a good thing I don't work in the RV Industry. You WOULD get a quality product and not have to rebuild your unit. It's soooooo frustrating. I know!
If you can't stop the leak, go back underneath and caulk the you-know-what out of it using a quality silicon caulk. Just be warned that the next time you have to work on it, it won't be easy.
Hi,
Thank you so much for the tip, it was exactly this non calked part (at the junction of the track and wall) that cause the water leak.
Problem solved !!
Good to hear you figured it out.
About half of our shower door wasn't caulked. I just don't get it. These guys just stop in mid job for a smoke break or what?
The shower caulking or rather lack of has been happening since the 1st RW rolled out, so apparently that same person is there NOT caulking the shower 5 years later. On my '13 they didn't caulk the bottom track at all or around 2 sides of the stall. Doesn't say much for the new managements 100% QC inspection if they're still leaving the factory with uncaulked showers.

The bottom track of the shower enclosure on our 2012 was not caulked and water poured out. The sides were caulked! Four years later our friends bought a 2016 31SL and guess what, the bottom track of the shower enclosure was not caulked!
