TOPIC: 1/2 bath vent on a 39mb

1/2 bath vent on a 39mb 1 year 6 months ago #1

On our 39 MB 1/2 bath I am wanting to change out the vent on top of the coach with a Cyclone vent to help exhaust from the black tank. There are 3 vents left to right in line with the commode.
I am not sure which one they used for the commode. Is there a schematic available for this model that will answer my question? Or does anyone know the location of this vent? Don't want to remove the wrong one.

Thanks in advance if someone might know the answer.

I have replaced ours also. The vents on the left side are for the black tanks, the right side is the gray. The one in the center is for the vent fan in the 1/2 bath.

Thanks for your response, I might have put the vent in the wrong place had you not voiced your opinion. Thanks again.

This what I did. Still have a venting issue on the front black but that is because they did not break off the flap when they drilled the tank for the pipe from the toilet. Since it is not a straight pipe, I am still trying to figure out how to get it broke off. It will get covered with waste/paper and close off the pipe to toilet which will burp at you when you flush. Have to run a lot of water down it to get it to open.

2 repair shops and the RW service center could or more likely would not fix it. I finally ran a camera down it to see it. Thinking about getting some romex with a cable in it with a loop to lasso it and try to break it off.

So you saying nothing attaches the pipes coming into the top of tank to the tank?

There should be a clamp holding the bad vent pipe to the tank. Or a rubber friction fit sleeve

It's the pipe from the toilet, does it have the same connection?
I was going to remove the front basement wall to get look at it before I got too involved in going in from the toilet.

Thanks Shane

To update.
There is an adapter glued to the top of the tanks, the pipes are glue into the adapters. Both gray and black are this way on our MB. I cut the 3 inch to the black and removed the obstruction. Had to remove the toilet and unscrew the flange to get the pipe to move enough. Hopefully no more problems.

I don't believe the adapters are glued on like you think. If the grommets for the drain pipes aren't the rubber ones that compress tightly to make the seal water tight, then they are probably a spin weld fitting. Mounted on a router and pressed together against the tank while spinning until they melt together. They have been doing that for many years. Used to be mostly the black tank flush spray fittings, but I have seen them spin weld the fittings for 1 1/2" and 3" fittings as well.

That could be for the adapters. I tried prying the pipe out of it with not luck.
