TOPIC: Coast-to-Coast Overnight Promotion

I'm sure that like many, we all get bombarded with a lot of junk mail...

Most of the time, I don't even look at these things because chances are they are just scams or high pressure marketing gimmicks...

One in particular that I seem to receive at least monthly is the Coast-to-Coast invitation to stay 2 nights free. All I have to do is see their glorious presentation to take advantage of the free offer. I'm sure you've probably been invited at some time in the past yourself if you've been RVing for any length of time....

With this in mind, has anyone ever actually taken this "tour"? If so, how long was the presentation and was it the usual high pressure sales pitch? They may be perfectly legitimate, but I seriously doubt we would ever enroll in this type of program. We like to visit new places and not the same rotation all of the time. It can be right for others. Just not for us at this time.

However, we might like to take advantage of the 2 free nights if the conditions are right though. What are your opinions on these types of offers...?

While the one we went to WAS NOT coast to coast, it was time share for RV's.. The kicker was that the 2 days stay was Tuesday-Thursday ONLY and no holidays.. for us, it was not worth our time

It probably depends on the sales office and sales person. I think the pitch is very similar to time share. We took advantage of the free nights, although ours were weekend nights--so I was OK giving up the time. If they take you around to every building and tour of campground, I would bank on a couple hours. Which campground/resort is offering the tour?

We have a Coast to Coast membership--if you are considering one, talk to me first. We can guide you on which membership and potentially how to get it for much less $. We use our membership 80-90% of the time.

Several years ago the CW in Denton had a kiosk in the entry for Thousand Trails, we got a free weekend at Lake Bridgeport, was NOT impressed with that park especially for the price of their membership.
My dad had a Coast to Coast membership with home port at Lake Whitney which was ok, but nothing special, not sure they ever got their moneys worth.

The two sites Danny has mentioned would be the two closest to us. I've driven by the Bridgeport facility and it did not seem too impressive. I have not been to the Lake Whitney site.

Yea! Greg that was for your benefit or other north Texas folks to check, out if interested in those memberships. I know after we looked at both of those parks that if all were the same as those we were NOT interested.
I was told by an older fulltimer to go on the internet & buy out someone's membership for a lot less money, if you're interested in one.
