Well, our first trip with the new Redwood is behind us now, and overall we were pleased with the camper. There were a few issues that we worked threw, 1 being somewhat of a PITA was the Air would not come back on until we reset the Computer Module.. After that all was good !
The new brakes are actually AWESOME ( for electric ) .. They are Oversized 3-3/8" X 15".. and trust me, WE TESTED THEM.. I actually thought we were gonna rear end an idiot that stopped directly in front of us... SOMEHOW I stopped in time.. That WOULD HAVE NEVER happened with the "16" that we had and the brakes that came stock......
I think the guy who did the black tank plumbing was high that day, I was ( still am) FULL, pulled the handle and got about 1 gallon of fluid, then nothing... That will be the dealers issue now..
The trailer was picked up today for a return trip to Indiana, getting outfitted with the Morryde IS and disc brakes next Mon and Tues,, then it will get picked up Wednesday for a return trip to the selling dealer. He will deal with the few minor issues that we found at PDI and 1st trip.. all minor... except for the poor guy who has to UNPLUG my black tank... I may have to buy him a beer or 12 !..
The upgraded suspension ( Morryde LRE4100 ) and HD shackles with wet bolts are great BUT still have the small springs, and 3/16" or 1/4" spring hangers ???? I debated over sending it back to have the IS, but long term longevity won that battle.
Nice to see they got away from the TRUE FIT running gear.. Morryde strut assist steps, Morryde pin box, Morryde suspension.
The AC system has definitely been corrected.. we ran 2 of the 3 MOST of the time and everyone was still complaining of being cold.. It was 90 out, we were full sun. withe only 1 on, the entire downstairs was cold... they warned me NOT to turn on the 3rd, I was gonna get tossed in the water if so.
Don't like the computer, I am old school and want rocker switches....
Looking forward to our next trip in a few weeks !
Good and sad news Joe (about the black - yuk). The computers are here to stay I think. Just ran into a buddy at storage and helped him park his new Cougar in the garage - took us an hour to figure out how to turn on the slides with the computer. It was the travel lock we hadn't disengaged. No switches anywhere.
