New Redwood Brochure on their Website shows the MoRyde LRE 4100 Suspension with Wet Bolts.

Also show "Solid Step" entry Steps from Lippert, similar to the MoRyde entry steps that were released last summer.

Given so many of the Redwood owners came from Montana, that should be a familiar ride! I would have to say the MoRyde LRE rode better than the Equaflex.

However, the spring travels much farther in a turn so you lean more - to the point some of the kitchen slides on the Montana would tip out. Also, The heavy and bulky MoRyde housing is wider than the I-beam and some of the folks actually had cracking in the webbing of the I-beam right above the LRE, and one guy in the MOC actually had collapse of the whole system. MoRyde came out with the X-Factor cross members to correct that issue. It will be interesting to see if Redwood uses factory X-factor or they just wait to see how many have issues. Another retro fix was gussets between the beam flanges to strengthen the beam webbing.

Interesting - unless Lippert bought MoRyde - the Falcon Integrated Technology (FIT) is no longer applicable to Redwood. This will be the first venture out to a product that competes with Lippert.

Also noted that Sequoia floorplans are no longer listed on the website.

Redwood just needs to put the IS on and be done with suspension issues!

They also reduced fresh water tank to 62 Gallons on ALL models.
And a smaller 35,000 BTU furnace, didn't see any more insulation values anywhere.

Rob,

The brochure reflects an impending change to MORryde suspension & steps, as outlined on the new brochure.

Probably due to the tank ruptures reported... Smaller tanks, less weight.

109 gallons x 8 ppg = 872 lbs
62 gallons x 8 ppg = 496 lbs

376 lbs lighter, no straps.

All they had to do is add a couple of $10 straps.

If this is not the reason, why would owners want smaller tanks?

Why not reduce the gray tanks to one and cut the black tank in half?

Why not remove the tanks all together? We can build trailers to haul behind to capture all three. That will take the weight off the RV?

Maybe they are trying to make it light enough to pull behind a 1/2 ton pickup?

Can't wait to see the new Mobile Suite Aire at the Dallas show next month! Under 18,000 lbs!

To me, the fact that they broke the aliegance with Lippert and allowed a Morryde product into the mix is HUGE . . It allows Morryde to have their foot in the door just waiting for the chance to get farther in..

Since we don't boondock, reducing the size of the FW tank isn't an issue. Other than using the pump while stopping on the road, in 4 years we have only found 1 campground that had a boil water advisory and have only spent 2 nights without services.

A smaller tank will actually save me time filling, pumping out and flushing the tank during the annual sterlising.

When we purchased the RW, the size of the EW tank was a wow factor, but quickly realised it isn't necessary for our needs. We probably only carry about 20 gallons, possibly 30 gals. of water.

We boondock twice a year, unless we go to more races... i am not sure how i would deal with only having 1/2 the water available??

I guess the good news for ME in that case is that for $40.00 , they offer fresh-potable water fills for up to 50 or 60 gallons I forget the exact the number... having 102 available to me, I have not needed that... in Fact, I am usually draining the excess while hooking up in the am of departure . .

Joe - unless it puts too much weight on the truck rear axle, a RL tows noticeably better with 20-30 gals of water in the tank. If I know it's going to be windy and crappy, I will fill the tank before we leave. Trick that Dave taught me and it does make a difference. .

We're leaving tomorrow morning early for Savannah and then on to Tampa. I just flushed all the antifreeze out of the coach system and put about 25 gals into the fresh tank.

Between that, 35 lbs air in the Airbags, the MorRyde pinbox, MorRyde IS and the Comfort Ride Hitch I have to at times remind myself that the coach is behind me. And we no longer fear any bridge or pavement joint or whoopee Lol

I guess not all RV'rs are created equal...

We'll be boondocking often. As we do, the last thing we need is to have to pack up and go to town just to get water and dump black/gray tanks.

Vaughan , I noticed that once I added the 6.5 Onan, my ride improved by far ! Even DW commented..

As far as water , we used to load 20 gallons onboard before long trips, now we just put a gallon jug in the bathroom for flushing while on the road, as we stay a campsites each night.
