what is every one installing for weight ratings? when I spoke with Morryde they really didn't want to raise the weight rating of the axel . My trailer stock is 7000lb rated axels and its been scaled at 12900 on the tires . To me that trailer should have 8000 lb rated morryde , what your thoughts. At the time is didn't have any food or clothes , it was heading for winter storage.

I forgot its 2015 RL38 gen prep , quad slide with washer drier full time package with residential frig. factory door tag says 14300 lbs empty .

The difference between 7K and 8K is literally $500. Since all new Redwoods are on 8K rated axles and you are already investing over $3,000 I can’t see any reason not to install 8K.

Whether it’s a safety margin, piece of mind, or simply to ensure capacity this is one of those “in for dime, in for a dollar” opportunities.

Back in "16" i was at Morryde having the IS installed on my Redwood. Before doing anything they scaled me, I was loaded for a 2 week trip, and I had just filled the 105 gallon water tank up so I would stay onsite while the work was being completed.
I came in right around the same ( 12,500# ), even though I NEVER travel with water ( less 850# ) they suggested the 8K as i of the sides weighed more than the other.
Like John stated, it is only a minimal difference in price.

MORryde can still change the Shear Spring if you don't need the full 8K, but if you found yourself running heavier they could be upgraded mush easier that changing from 7 to 8K after the fact.
We generally travel long term, so we're loaded heavy, our '12 36RL scaled at 17K, I don't dare tell you what this 39MB weighs, but it left the Factory just shy of 16K empty. It's been upgraded to MORryde suspension, 24K Pin Box and have a Comfort Ride 24K hitch.

John, we had ours installed in August of this year. We absolutely love the IS. I ask my wife Kim on each trip if I told her how nice it is to drive with the IS on the Redwood. Her response is this is the first time today!!! Completely different ride, and after replacing 2 sets of springs in 6 months, piece of mind.
Can't go wrong in my opinion.
