RE: Really enjoying my RW36FL here in Florida but I do have a question regarding tv in bedroom | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | RetiredInJax | Main Forum
Thanks for the drawing. It doesn't appear I have to do anything, once I get the TV out and make sure the cable is connected. It also answers another question I had which is, I want to put a TV in the Basement and there is a jack there with two outlets. The top outlet says "AMP" and the jack below it says "TIVO". I'm assuming the top should say "ANT" and the bottom say "SAT". I'll put a TV down there and try it out. What can it do, not work?

My FB had that as well. I was able to access from the Basement to add bracing. Also helped a fellow RWer add support to the steps by removing the top step. Neither was from water damage just half a## construction.

Vic, it’s possible you might be able to get eyes on it by taking down the Basement wall. I had a creak in the hallway floor and asked Redwood to take a look at the rally last year, and he crawled under there and shot a bunch of screws in the bracing. Just a thought.
RE: Wet Bay | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | MMPacker | Main Forum
@shane-wood Good afternoon , so I got things buttoned up and dried out, looking closer at the wet bay the entrance for water cable etc , they used a old style power cord hatch, works great but out of curiosity I pulled the screws to see if it was sealed and NO it's not. A little silicone and I feel better, also if you look on the bottom of the door side it's not sealed either. Not that anyone wants to have lots of water in the wet bay but it seems a little may have seeped under the Basement floor covering. Something to check out as a precaution.

... is great. On Further inspection it appears that the water exited through the access hole and ran back under the underbelly. The great thing is that Redwood fasted the dropframe underbelly below the frame so that it's relatively easy to access the tanks and plumbing connections. We are now in year six of living full time in an RV so doing our best to keep an eye on things is second nature. I even have a new furnace in the Basement ready to go just in case??? learned that one last Christmas when our furnace fan motor failed and of course no one had one. ...
Inverter won't power residential refrigerator, but will power lights | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Jim | Forum Help & FAQ
Please explain what lights the Inverter is powering? Our Inverter only powers our Fridge, that was until I added an outlet in the Basement off the Inverter to power our Coleman Portable Freezer. Our 1000 Watt Magnum Inverter powers both without a problem when we're traveling.

... opening the small door access on the Basement aft wall on the driver's side to locate the water pump. There should be a quarter turn valve inline with the pump inlet. That needs to be shut off to isolate the fresh water tank from the pump. Now when you remove the pull out hose cap (there should be a screen filter on the end), and stick into the RV anti-freeze jug. Now when you turn on the pump, it should pump up the water lines until the pressure switch shuts it off. Then alternately open faucets, shower, toilet lines one at a time. Anti-freeze should ...

... ,water ,batteries, propane, food and all the chit you can fit in the Basement. our 2015 RL38 has a almost empty closit and many draws and cabinets empty in the living room, the last time I scaled it coming back from Morryde I was at 16,800 with almost no food and traveling by myself! I know the Morryde IS added a fair amount of steel but its was still over weight. Set up to full time I could see these trailers running down the road at 18,000 lbs very easy . Leson learned here , know your weights and have enough truck to handle it. In my case single rear ...
36RL Water Heater Access | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Danny_and_Linda | Utilities: Plumbing, Electrical and Propane
Remove about 2 dozen screws to remove the Basement wall, other than pulling the water heater that's the only access. When putting the wall back staple some industrial Velcro to the panel edges & forget the screws.
Need to Run Wires | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Jim | Utilities: Plumbing, Electrical and Propane
Me too...............the only "special tool" I needed was a small electricians fish tape which I had anyway, having been an electrician for 40 years. Going over the ceiling in the "basement" was the hardest part, but not too bad. Having the display inside the coach proves valuable when you stay at parks that has less than stellar voltage in their electrical systems. Plus if the park is full of larger RV's, the load gets more than they counted on. Seeing the real time voltage and current on both 50A legs is valuable to shed load before the system shuts the whole trailer down.

I mounted my remote for the EMS in the panel with all the other switches/controls. Easy drop from there into the belly, then removed a section of the Basement ceiling and routed to the Battery compartment.
Front or Rear living areas, whats your experience? | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Jim | Forum Help & FAQ
... of the things that sold us on the model. Our FL has lots of interior storage compared to many of today's FL models and yes it does have less Basement storage than a Rear Living Model so that is a negative. The head room in the Front Living area is less but I am 6'1" and it is not a problem for me. Now I have been in many Rear Living models and my head almost hits the ceiling in the bathroom shower, no problem in our Front Living, I cannot touch the ceiling in the bathroom. Our Front Living Floor bedroom is larger than many due to the addition of width movin ...

We have an FL and love it but here are my cons after owning for a few years. Very little Basement storage. Having to walk through the bathroom to get into the bedroom. Our MH was this way and we said never again but we did it again because we liked the FL. I won't do this again!!!! Dining table set up was always in the way so I removed and installed a center island with bar stools and works much better. Now it's almost perfect for us.

... we like it. The first Redwood FL floorplan really worked for us, especially the main seats facing the TV/entertainment system. It also has a full couch across the front, which is claimed by the dogs, and it provides separation between living and dinning/cooking areas.. Lack of an island in the kitchen also makes it easier when living with 2 large dogs. However, the original FL had some negatives - tiny Basement, no sleeper sofa and raised slides in L/R. Redwood have updated the FL many times, but in our opinion none of them even come close to the original ... |
